BOOK REVIEWS
What are the gemmology journals, trade press and expert professionals saying about GEMPEDIA
The Journal of Gemmology
The prestigious The Journal of Gemmology, established since 1934 by the Gemmological Association of Great Britain has issued a very rewarding and motivating review written by research gemmologist Dr. Lore Kiefert. As Dr Kiefert predicted, I have been indeed adding new terms and editing the existing ones and hope to share them in a forthcoming opportunity and I am grateful to all the colleagues and friends, including the author of the book review, that have contributed to this never-ending endeavour.
GIA, Gemological Institute of America
Published in July at the GIA (Gemological Institute of America) Research News and Articles, another very positive review written by Dr James E Shigley.

A review, in Italian, by the renown jewellery journalist Laura Astrologo Porché (editor of Journal des Bijoux)
RAPAPORT
Published in August in the prestigious Rapaport magazine, a review by trade journalist Kira Meirovich.
Jewellery Outlook
The world renown veteran trade journalist David Brough, editor of the popular Jewellery Outlook trade news platform, published this review earlier in August 2024
Pearl-Guide.com
The very popular pearl education platform Pearl-Guide.com, founded in 2004, posted this review by pearl expert Douglas McLaurin
For the cost and because it is presented as a reference book to be used, I was surprised that it was not a hard back. size is okay. Pictures or diagrams for certain concepts would have made it more comprehensive as well.as more attractive.
Dear Francine,
Thank you for your honest feedack. Regarding the binding, it was a recomendation from the book manufacturer to produce it this way to make handling easier given its size and number of pages. Regarding pictures and diagram, I am totaly with you on that comment and work is being done for considering adding those in a future edition. Again, thank you for your constructive comment
Perfect
Gempedia is fantastic! As a jewelry artists, we had a client send us a gem for a custom design. The gem was cassiterite. We had never encountered this gem before. I referred to Gempedia and found a completely comprehensive explanation. The info was also a nod to my current historical research on the Bronze Age. We also received (same client) a gorgeous hauyne from the Eiffel Mts. Thank you so much for Gempedia.
